How it works

01 Your Initial Enrollment Period is the 7 months centered on the month you turn 65 — the 3 months before, your birthday month, and the 3 months after.

02 If you were born on the 1st of a month, Medicare treats you as turning 65 the month before, so the whole window shifts one month earlier.

03 We compare today's date to that window (ahead of it, inside it, or past it) and factor in whether your coverage path is decided — employer coverage past 65, a plan to enroll, or already being on Medicare.

04 The result is a 0–100 score with a readiness band and the specific dates of your window.
